How are animals classified? This was our focus question in today's Science lesson! Scientists classify animals based on their similarities and differences. We learned about 2 basic groups:
VERTEBRATES (Animals with backbones), and INVERTEBRATES (Animals without backbones).
Within Vertebrates we discussed 5 subdivisions - Fish, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds, and Mammals; we discussed each group's basic characteristics, and sorted examples for each.
